Vanport Warehousing, Inc., then named Vanport Express, Inc., was established in 1988 and functioned as a third-party intermodal shippers’ agent in the Portland, OR area. In 1991, after growing at a sustainable rate, Vanport Express, Inc. went into the warehousing business. The company was originally started by James (CEO) and Mary Ann Egging; however, they soon joined together with long-time employee, Jeffery Calcagno (President). With their partnership, the business ran and grew more efficiently.

In the early 2000s, Vanport Express, Inc. was sold and all energy was focused on warehousing and distribution services. Vanport Warehousing, Inc. has been considered the industry standard in warehousing, not just due to the efforts of Jim and Jeff, but because of all the wonderful employees and customers.
